Summer Reading Camp for our Teens and Tweens

For all of our summer readers in grades 5-12… our Summer Reading Program is also slightly different this year.  We will be running a “Library Camp” from 6:30-8:30PM for three evenings at the end of July following the New York State Summer Reading program’s international theme:

Tuesday, July 26th:  “World of Fantasy” Improvisation Workshop with the Wondermakers Children’s Interactive Theater.

Wednesday, July 27th: International Food and Craft night

Thursday, July 28th:  Theatrical fencing workshop “Engarde to Encore” with a local fencing instructor

Participants that meet all registration requirements and attend at least two of the three programs will receive a summer reading basket which includes all kinds of fun goodies, candy and a $10 gift card to Burlingham Books in Perry.

What do I need to do to participate?

ü  All participants will be required to register on-line again this year, using the New York State program. No computer at home? No problem! Just stop in at the library and use one of ours – just go to our blog (www.eaglefreelibrary.org) and click on the Teens and Tweens tab at the top. You’ll see the “Sign me up” button – click on it to get your account started. Once you have an account, you’ll be able to log minutes read as well as write book reviews to post on your page

ü  Participants will need to register and log in reading minutes (it IS a summer reading program after all!!) from July 7th through July 25th. Participants must read a minimum of 20 minutes a day for at least 15 days in that time period.

ü  Participants will need to post at least 2 age appropriate book reviews using the NYS Summer Reading system by Monday, July 25th.

ü  You can log in as many times as you’d like each week – we’ll be checking each Thursday morning to see which participants qualify for a Teens and Tweens prize when they stop in at the library.
